Winner's Circle
Deadline to SCAAEP Chapter 2/28/10

Available to veterinary students in their 3rd year of study who are intending to enter equine veterinary medicine. (Winner's Circle applicants MUST apply to their chapter advisor by hard copy application and CANNOT apply online via RFE's website.)

Ashado
Deadline 2/28/10

Scholarship recipient is chosen from the female Thoroughbred Scholarship applicants, and represents the best of all female applicants.  

FLEET INDIAN Scholarship for New York Students
Deadline 2/28/10

Available to New York residents attending a college or university in the state of New York wishing to pursue a career in the Thoroughbred industry.

Kentucky Equine Education Project Scholarship
Deadline 5/1/10

Available to legal Kentucky state residents, who are current full-time students at a Kentucky university/college that offer a program in equine studies.

Racing Officials Accreditation Scholarship
Deadline 9/1/09

Available to students who have graduated from the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program, University of Louisville Equine Industry Program, or another equine-related program. Available again in 2011.

Washington Thoroughbred Foundation Scholarship
Deadline 2/28/10

Available to Washington state residents from any background wishing to pursue a career in the equine industry.

2010 Scholarship Application Process

To apply for a scholarship, please click on Apply Now! button to the right.  You may begin applying on December 1, 2009.   

You will be taken to a site where you must setup a username and password before you can apply for a scholarship. Then you will be asked a series of questions and required to upload required supplemental materials which include:

-Two-four letters of recommendation; (KY Horse Council requires four letters)  

-Official transcript from high school for high school seniors or college for those currently in college; 

-Copy of acceptance letter from the college or university you will attend (for high school seniors);
 
-Either your parents' previous year’s tax return and current year’s W2 form OR the current year’s tax return. (Additional years may be requested.);

-Student Aid Report (SAR) received in response to you filing the FAFSA and/or;  

-Financial aid award letter(s) (including other scholarship awards).  

The system only keeps you logged in for a certain amount of time, so please keep this in mind as you apply.  To make sure none of your answers are lost, please prepare your answers to the essay questions in MS Word (or equivalent program) and then copy and paste those answers into the appropriate field.
